AFC Volunteer Scribe Program
AFC volunteer medical scribes assist physicians by documenting patient encounters and managing administrative tasks in a medical setting. The scribe program is distinct from the general volunteer program. Volunteers are onboarded in cohorts and specific times of the year, they must meet specific requirements to be considered, and it requires a year-long, weekly commitment. The scribe program is a competitive application process and, unfortunately, we receive far more applicants than we are able to accept.
Those who are accepted spend their year commitment supporting providers who represent the best of the medical field. It is a wonderful opportunity for experience, education, and to be part of a team that is dedicated to our patients and to health equity. We also like to think it’s pretty fun!
