A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your individual retirement account (IRA) provides the option to give up to $109,000 to charity tax-free each year if you are 70 ½ or older (as of 2025).
These transfers, known QCDs, offer eligible Americans a great way to easily give to charity before the end of the year. And, for those who are at least 73 years old, QCDs count toward the IRA owner’s required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.
If you’re interested in supporting AFC with a gift through your IRA account, please connect with your account administrator as each institution may have different procedures for direct transfer requests; ask them to include your name on the check that they send to Arlington Free Clinic. The distribution must clear the IRA account by December 31 for your donation to count towards the calendar year.
