We Need a Free Clinic in Arlington?

Established in 1994, Arlington Free Clinic (AFC) continues to be Arlington’s only provider of comprehensive healthcare services for adults living with a low income and without health insurance. While there are approximately 10,000 uninsured adults in Arlington County,  AFC is the medical home for 1,600+ of these underserved members of our community.

The need for AFC’s services continues to greatly exceed our capacity.

The community we serve includes individuals and families who earn less than 200% of the federal poverty level, with a large proportion of households earning less than $35,000 annually. This economic reality has a direct impact on healthcare access, as uninsured individuals are often forced to delay seeking care, forego preventive services altogether, or end up in the emergency room where care is costly and focused on immediate symptoms, not long-term health. As a result, our patients are more likely to suffer from multiple chronic conditions that have gone untreated for years, including diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.

Your donations support our work and help AFC continue to provide quality healthcare to the Arlingtonians who most need it.
