Arlington Free Clinic’s Model and Services

Arlington Free Clinic is a healthcare home that works collaboratively with patients, volunteers, community members, and other nonprofit partners.

Our primary care services are the cornerstone of AFC’s work, offering preventive care, routine screenings, treatment for acute illnesses, and chronic disease management to uninsured Arlingtonians. Primary care appointments are often the first point of contact for our patients, many of whom have not seen a healthcare provider in years and often have multiple complicated health conditions. At AFC, we provide regular health maintenance, including screenings for conditions such as diabetes and high cholesterol, to help prevent long-term complications and hospitalizations.

Our model is built on long-term, comprehensive care delivered through a coordinated team of volunteer and staff providers. Physicians, counselors, pharmacists, dentists, and physical therapists work side-by-side, creating an integrated system of care that emphasizes prevention and early detection of conditions that span multiple disciplines. Collaborative practice is highly regarded as effective and as a model, is core to how we provide care at AFC.

Arlington Free Clinic is not an urgent care center.
