Community Volunteers

Here are some exciting ways to engage with AFC outside of our clinic walls!

AFC Ambassadors

Are you passionate about community health and looking for a flexible, meaningful way to give back? Our AFC Ambassador Program empowers volunteers aged 16 and older to represent Arlington Free Clinic beyond our walls and out in the community.

As an AFC Ambassador, you’ll help spread the word about our mission and make a direct impact in creative, community-based ways. Some ambassadors might organize item drives for essential supplies like dental kits, blood pressure cuffs, sunscreen, or grocery gift cards. Others may speak on behalf of AFC at events or help identify new opportunities, like local fairs or newsletters, where we can share our work and reach more people. Opportunities for the role vary based on what is going on in the community, what AFC has been invited to participate in, and interest/activity level of the Ambassador.

Whether you’re a student, working professional, or longtime supporter, there’s a place for you in this exciting new role. Join us as we expand the ways volunteers can support AFC and promote health equity throughout our community.

Gala Volunteers

AFC hosts its Annual Benefit Gala to raise essential funds for our organization. This event would not be possible without its nearly 100 volunteers, who assist in a variety of roles including:

  • Fundraising
  • Auction solicitation
  • Generating excitement for the Gala through social media or other events
  • Day-of event set-up and assistance
