There are several ways for community members to participate with AFC if they are interested\, including a community tour\, creating Valentines for clinic volunteers\, or supporting our dental program by joining our Smile Squad and assembling dental care gift bags for patients. Volunteers collect supplies in advance and drop off prepared kits. \n\n\nEvent details\n\n\n\n\nDate: Monday\, January 19\, 2026 \nLocation: Washington-Liberty High School (enter through door #1 on the N. Stafford St. side of the building) and additional locations \nTime: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. \nSchedule: \n\n8:30 a.m.: Check in\, volunteer fair\, and photo booth opportunities begin at Washington-Liberty High School. The first 1\,000 people to check in will receive a free MLK Day of Service t-shirt.\n9:00 a.m.: Opening program at Washington-Liberty High School and the presentation of the 2026 Beloved Community Award\n9:30 a.m.: Transition time to projects and travel to off-site locations (if necessary)\n10:00 a.m.: Projects begin at off-site locations and virtual projects\n12:00 p.m.: Projects conclude (time may vary)

Proceeds from this sold-out event directly support comprehensive healthcare — including primary and specialty medical care\, behavioral and oral healthcare\, and even resources “beyond the exam room” such as access to food\, housing\, and transportation — through nearly 10\,000 visits every year.
